What is a container desiccant bag?

A container desiccant bag, also known as a container moisture absorber, is a special type of desiccant most commonly used for container transportation. The top of the container desiccant bag has a hook, which is used to hang the moisture absorber from the hanging ring on the upper wall of the container. During the loading and transportation of the container, it keeps the inside of the container dry and prevents container rain from forming, thereby protecting the cardboard packaging of the goods from moisture damage during transportation.

Product Features of Container Desiccant Bags

The main moisture-absorbing component of this product is calcium chloride, with food-grade water-locking gel as an auxiliary material. The absorbent inside is in the form of a white powder. It has strong moisture absorption and drying capabilities within an ambient temperature range of 10℃～90℃ and a relative humidity of 65%-95%, with a moisture absorption rate that can reach 200% or more of its own weight; its moisture absorption capacity is 10-20 times that of ordinary silica gel desiccants and remains effective for up to 60 days.

The product is characterized by a fast moisture absorption rate, forming a semi-liquid gel after absorbing moisture. With water-locking packaging material, the contents will not seep back. The materials used in this product are non-toxic, harmless, and environmentally friendly. They comply with EU environmental testing requirements such as RoHS and REACH. They are green and environmentally friendly products, but they are not edible. Cargo dry bags also use silica gel and montmorillonite as adsorbents, but the adsorption performance of the calcium chloride formulation is significantly better than that of the two aforementioned materials.

How to use container desiccant bags

Instructions for use:

A. Inspect the container: Check whether the container is damaged, such as holes or cracks in the walls, roof, or floor of the container, to ensure that the container is relatively well sealed.

B. Check the moisture content of the wooden floor in the container: If possible, do not use a container with a wood moisture content above 20%, as this will increase the risk of moisture. If it cannot be changed, increase the amount of desiccant based on the moisture content in the container to the initially recommended amount to ensure the safety of the goods. Please do not use wooden boards where the moisture content exceeds 25%.

C. Seal the ventilation openings of the container. It is recommended to seal three, optionally leaving one open inside.

D. Remove the desiccant container from the thick vacuum-sealed plastic bag.

E. Hang the desiccant on the safety hooks on the inner wall of the container.

F. Close the container doors.

Special Notes for Container Desiccant Packs:

The desiccant bags in the box must be used immediately after opening; unused desiccant bags after opening need to be resealed and stored.

A. If there is no space between the container wall and the goods to place the container desiccant, the container desiccant can be placed horizontally on the goods, but hanging the container desiccant will maximize the moisture absorption range of the container desiccant inside the container.
B. After opening the small package, please use it up as soon as possible. They should be placed evenly throughout the container, and more can be placed near the door. C. This product is not edible.

Dosage Specifications for Container Desiccant Hanging Strips

A. The recommended quantity for a standard container is 6; the recommended quantity for a 40-foot container is 12; the quantity for extra-high and extra-long containers should be increased accordingly.
B. For moisture-sensitive products, 1.6kg of desiccant is recommended per cubic meter of container space, while 1kg can be used for ordinary products.
