ADHESIVE TAPE
What is adhesive tape?
Adhesive tape is a strip-shaped material consisting of a backing (such as paper, fabric, or plastic film) and an adhesive, usually wound into a roll for use.

It uses pressure-sensitive adhesion to quickly bond items by applying pressure, and is widely used in daily life, packaging, electrical engineering, and industrial fields. A notable feature is that it requires no curing time and is easy to use.
In 1928 in St. Paul, Minnesota, Richard Drew invented Scotch tape. A layer of adhesive was coated onto the surface of the tape to help it stick to items. The earliest adhesives were derived from animals and plants. In the 19th century, rubber was the main component of adhesives in modern times. was widely used.

Principles of Using Adhesive Tape
Adhesive tape consists of a base material and an adhesive, and is used to connect two or more objects that have been separated from each other through bonding. Its surface is coated with a layer of adhesive. The earliest adhesives were derived from animals and plants. In the 19th century, rubber was the main component of adhesives; in modern times, many types of polymers are widely used.
Adhesives can stick to almost anything because they form bonds between their own molecules and the molecules of the objects being connected. These bonds can hold the molecules tightly together. The composition of adhesives includes different types of polymers depending on the brand and type.

Here is a detailed introduction to adhesive tape:
- Composition: It mainly consists of a substrate (providing the carrier, such as BOPP film, paper, or fabric) and a pressure-sensitive adhesive (providing adhesion). Some types of double-sided tape also contain a release material (such as release paper/film).
- Working principle: The adhesive on the tape can bond tightly with the surface molecules of the object being adhered under light pressure, and its state remains unchanged before and after application (i.e., it does not require curing).

Common classification:
- By application: Packaging tape, electrical tape, masking tape, double-sided tape, warning tape, etc.
- By material: BOPP tape, PVC tape, cloth tape, aluminum tape, etc.

Advantages of adhesive tape:
- Easy to use: Adheres instantly when pressed down, requires no mixing or protective coating, and can usually be torn by hand.
- Wide range of applications: Can be processed into various shapes (die-cut), with uniform thickness, suitable for securing, protecting, and sealing various items.
