Description
PET GRANULES
1. What is PET plastic?
Polyethylene terephthalate (referred to as PET, PETE or PETP or PET-P) is a thermoplastic, belonging to the Polyester resin and used in fiber synthesis, beverage, food and liquid containers, extrusable. sprayed for shaping and in industry often combined with glass fibres.
2. Characteristics of PET Plastic
PET is a thermoplastic, a plastic that softens into a liquid under the action of high temperature and solidifies when cooled. There are more than 40 types of thermoplastics, and by 1900, thermoplastics were widely used. In the popular thermoplastics line, PET belongs to the engineering plastic line, besides there are plastic lines similar to PET such as: Polyoxymethylene (POM), (Poly acetate), Polycarbonate (PC), Polyamide (PA), ( Nylon), Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), Polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
- PET plastic has high mechanical strength, is able to withstand tear and impact force, withstands high abrasion, has high rigidity.
- PET plastic is inert to the food environment and is transparent.
- PET plastic is more resistant to O2 and CO2 gas than other plastics.
- When heated to 200ºC or cooled at -90ºC, the chemical structure of the PET circuit remains the same, and the vapor barrier property remains unchanged when the temperature is around 100ºC.
3. Uses of PET Plastic:
Due to its very high waterproofing properties, PET is used to make bottles, bottles of pure water, carbonated soft drinks. In addition, in the production of shaped plastics, PET is also widely used in the production of plastic food trays thanks to its air permeability and safety at high temperatures.
